The Churchill Brand
Churchill first use the "British bulldog" in their advertising in 1994. Within 2 years, the Nodding Dog™ brand was born. The Nodding Dog is now the star of all Churchill's TV ads and marketing. First the nodding dog was a toy dog but now it has evolved to an advanced computer-animated nodding bulldog. This icon of Churchill plays a big role in all of Churchill’s advertising and is now synonymous with the brand name. The Nodding Dogs catchphrase, in response to people who ask if he can save them money on insurance, is a smug gleeful "Ohh yes!". Bob Mortimer was the original voice of the Nodding Dog, responding to voice-overs by Mortimer's comedy partner in crime Vic Reeves. You can actually buy the Nodding dog toy modelled after the TV icon. They are available from the Churchill website for £12.50.

Churchill Hot air balloon
The Churchill hot air balloon is the same shape as of their bulldog. At over 24m high and 34m long, it’s the largest dog hot air balloon in the world and can carry one pilot and two passengers.
Two hundred times the size of the Churchill Nodding Dog™, the balloon could fit 1.3 million of the plastic replicas inside its canvas. It could also fit 49,000 real bulldogs inside itself and, if alive, it would eat approximately 25,000kg of dog food a day.
